Shoes For Haiti

Here is an article by a student from Central High School in Grand Forks.  KimBerly Clark, Marketing & DECA teacher, submitted it for the Grand Forks Herald and I thought what a great item to feature on this blog.  Thank you KimBerly for sending it!

The Grand Forks Central DECA chapter and the local Finish Line store are working together to help with project Haiti recovery. Now, through March 23, they will be collecting new and gently used shoes that will be shipped to Haiti for the thousands of people that are desperately in need of basic life necessities including proper foot wear. You can drop off your new and gently used shoes at the local Finish Line store in Columbia Mall or the main entrance and school store at Central High School. It’s all part of a nationwide effort to help the people Haiti. With all the rubble, concrete and dirt the Haitians are more susceptible to cuts and infections. By collecting shoes, we will be able to make life easier for the Haitians. So check out the clearance racks, end of season sales and even deep in your closet for those gently used shoes and do your part in helping GFC DECA and Finish Line help Haiti. For more information call 787-2861 or email:
